What is there on Maguindanao really? I admit that I haven't been watching the news for a while now and when people were abuzz about the massacre I thought they were talking about the past massacres. I thought it was old news.
Then one day a friend of mine was talking about how a Facebook blogger became the next internet sensation for posting how that person hates people of a certain religion for killing all those poor, innocent lives. Quite frankly, when my friend finished her story, I did hate 'them' a little bit. I mean, how could they do that? I couldn't even kill a fly! ----Or maybe I could but the point is that killing other people no matter how popular that is (you know what I mean) it's still like not very humanly. Obviously! I don't really have an idea what their motive was but I really do hope that they did it for the greater glory of their people. I hope their purpose is to better themselves.
Maguindanao is now on Martial Law because of that. Anyone doesn't want that. Think about the old people who suffered Martial Law in the past, doesn't that just scare them? I know I would be.
I just pray of better things in the future. Like PEACE, no matter how cliche that might be.

I have been writing articles about the inhumane carnage that happened in Maguindanao. In my own jurisdiction it was just right that PGMA declared Presidential Proclamation 1941 Placing the entire province under Martial Law. This is to disarm the CVO's of the Ampatuan's and to resolve the crisis. I would like to ask this question "Why did the Ampatuan's were not afraid when they perpetrated the carnage?" The answer is... because they are confident enough that they can go against with the government because they have thousands of CVO's and many high powered ammunitions. From a source the unearthed ammunitions that are buried within the grounds of Maguindanao and confiscated ones from the CVO's can cover a whole normal size basketball court and it is said that there are more ammunitions that are still buried and not recovered. Plus they have the sole control of all government agencies within Maguindanao including the Police and Military forces.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so familiar with this development myself, but broadly speaking, it's always a shame whenever someone generalizes the heinous actions of an individual or group who happens to belong to a certain religion to reflect upon the characters of all other members of that religion at large. My guess is that in this particular case Muslims were being defamed yet again. The massacre speaks to the culprits' own personal problems or deficits as human beings, by and large divorced from Islam. In its purest sense I believe Islam to be a peace-loving religion, like all true religions of this world.
ReplyDeleteI first read this tragic news on the internet and ditto. I also thought this happened a long time ago but not until my Uncle showed me a daily newspaper pubishing that story.
ReplyDeleteI was horrified! How could i miss this? I should have been paying more attention to the news and to my country. (wow, that makes me sound like a patriot).
It's unbelievable how the politics in our country is turning into a dirtier and deadlier game. If they are running to be a leader of their nation then they're obviously not setting a good example to their fellowmen. It's disgusting.! It completely lacks the meritocracy of morality here!
And what shocked me the most is that journalists were also killed in the said massacre. Totally Sick! What's going on with the minds of these people?
well then, it might either serve as a warning or a motivation to all aspiring journalists out there.
They'll just have to do what they think is good for them and most of all for their country.
When i saw the pictures, i had goose bumps all over. Those killers were really really insane. They have no right to take other people's lives.
ReplyDeleteworst election-related crime :/
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the victims.
another bad record for the Muslim community.
BUT, people! D O N O T generalize.
